We’ll advise on all of these issues and help you find the optimum way to use the space that you have.

workspace design

If you’ve ever spent a few hours having to work at someone’s else’s desk, you know just how important it is to get your workspace ergonomics right. Everything should be at the right height and distance - not just for convenience, but because there are serious benefits for physical health, as well as morale, in getting set up correctly.

We’ll help you plan in the position of your desk, displays, storage, shelves and other office furniture right from the start, so you end up with best possible working environment.

natural light

The orientation, position and type of windows and doors should allow you to control the amount of natural light. Direct sunlight might be welcome at times, but glare or reflections can easily stop you seeing your screen properly.

The angle and strength of the light will change throughout the year, and can have a big impact on heating and cooling.

Photo of cute dog listening attentively, because it's hard to show sound in a photo! The point being that Garden room acoustic are really important.

sound & acoustics

The way a space ‘feels’ is affected by many things - but one that’s often overlooked is acoustics. The shape of the room, the materials used to build it, the decor and the furnishings will all affect how much sound travels in and out of the room and how everything sounds when you’re inside.

Imagine the difference in sound between making a phone call from your living room (which probably has lots of soft furnishings) and your bathroom (which probably doesn’t.) The bathroom might be great for singing because you get a natural ‘reverb’ effect, but everything sounds harsh, crisp and echoey. We’ll consider all of these factors in the room design, to make sure you have a nice-sounding environment whether you’re on the phone all day, listening to music, or prefer it super quiet.

A high-spec Amplifi mesh router (pictured) can provide superb connectivity to a garden room without needing to run extra cables

internet connectivity

Chances are you rely on good internet access to be able to work from home. There are alternatives to the popular method of running an ethernet cable down the garden from the back of your home router. In some cases it makes more sense to set up an independent connection based on 5G or satellite, or upgrade your home’s wifi with a mesh system to give you dedicated bandwidth - rather than having to boot someone off Fortnite every time you want to make a zoom call!

We can explore the options with you, runs tests where necessary, and help you get connected in the best possible way.
