Garden Gyms
training
your way
Training at home - either alone or with others - is becoming increasingly popular. No more decisions about dragging yourself out in the dark and cold in the middle of winter. You can cancel that expensive and underused gym membership for starters!
designed around you
Gyms and workout spaces need some special considerations. What type of workouts will you do? Might you need additional wall space for mirrors and equipment racks rather than a full glass frontage? Will the position of your equipment be fixed or moveable - a running machine in front of a screen for example, or an upright bike facing into the garden?
Headroom will need to be thought through, with carefully positioned skylights to allow some additional headspace above raised standing equipment where necessary.

Structure, comfort & ventilation
There’s floor type to consider - you may need a floor with some flex for aerobic workouts, or a solid structure for heavy equipment.
Lighting, privacy and cooling will be priorities, along with personal safety through smart cable management such as floor traps and cable channelling.
Screens and sound systems are likely to be high on the list, along with internet connectivity and robust electrics.
Ventilation is incredibly important - working out generates lots of heat and condensation. The air must be at the right temperature for comfort, and moisture must be extracted properly to avoid long-term damp issues.
The goal is to provide the perfect workout space - temperature controlled, acoustically balanced and beautifully designed to remove any and all excuses not to get out there and break a sweat!
