Planning a Garden Room for spring?

Now the decs are down, the Baileys bottle empty and the awkwardly-accommodated inlaws long-since left the building, it’s time to regroup on all those “leave it to the New Year” projects. If you’re planning a garden room to be ready for spring, the conversation with your supplier needs to start in January!

Here’s a typical timeline:

The longest part of the process is usually the “Ordering” Phase, where doors and windows are manufactured to order. During this time, other work can be done to prepare the garden space. The actual build of the room itself is relatively quick.

Top tips for planning.

  • Find out if you need planning permission, as this will add time to the process.  You’ll need drawings from your supplier to make the application.

  • Think about key dates in your diary (e.g holidays or weddings) and plan around them.

  • Think about your surrounding garden area now - get the best from the growing season by deciding what needs to be planted, and when.
